I can’t believe I’m going to admit this. When I was around 12 or 13 (or 16), I used to search wedding gowns on Yahoo and save them in a PowerPoint. Yes, a PowerPoint ! And yes, I realize that I was such a nerd for making a PowerPoint slideshow full of wedding gowns. Hey, I just really liked watching the gowns flash on the screen whenever I would “View” the slideshow, okay?! ;)
Anyway, I remember having gowns with big skirts, colorful sashes, slinky silhouettes, and mermaid styles on this one PowerPoint. I have no idea how or why my obsession with wedding dresses hit me at that point in my life, (especially because I didn’t have a boyfriend!), but I just couldn’t wait to try on wedding dresses and find The Dress. I never really dreamed of who I would marry, I just dreamed of what I would be married in. (Is that weird? I find that weird now that I think about it! haha!) And you better believe that when I got engaged, I began saving wedding gowns on my computer again, except, I just bookmarked them this time. ;)
When I saw my dress online, I instantly knew it was The One. I went to the store, tried it on first, but proceeded to try on about 8 more gowns just to make sure I was in love with it. I loved the corded lace, the A-line silhouette, and the chapel train. Plus, I knew Rick would like it. :)
Even though it’s almost been five months since my wedding, I still LOVE looking at wedding dresses in magazines and online. I wanted to share a few of my favorite wedding gowns with all the brides-to-be out there in hopes that you see one or two that you like, as well. ;)
Have a Wonderful Wednesday!
