Wow! 2012! I’m so happy to see you. :) 2011 proved to be an amazing year and I’m kind of sad to see it go. However, I have the hope that 2012 will be wonderful as well. I cannot wait to find out what this year holds! :)

To end 2011, I photographed Hillary & Chase’s wedding at the beginning of December. Oh, what a fantastic day that was! I wish I could photograph a Hillary & Chase wedding every December. :) The theme? Winter wonderland! Full of colorful reds and grays, and, of course, Christmas trees! It was a classic wedding for a classic love. Hillary adores Chase. She beamed whenever someone mentioned him before their First Look. Chase? Oh, he was super chill and so happy to marry his sweetheart. I loved that right after their First Look, they took a few moments for themselves. They wanted to talk about all the excitement and joy of the day, alone. I peeked through the glass door and snapped a few images that can be seen below. They look photoshopped, but they aren’t! :)

Everyone I encountered that day was sincere, happy, and so kind. They all wanted to make Hillary & Chase’s wedding as special and memorable as possible. I believe my second photographer and I said, “I love this wedding!” about twenty times that day.

Hillary & Chase (and family & friends), thank you all for being so welcoming and fun! We had a blast capturing these images and I know I will cherish them forever. Enjoy and Happy New Year!

Have a great day!

This line is in the song I used for their slideshow:

The best is yet to come.

Oh, I couldn’t have said it any better! It’s so crazy how much these images mean, to me, and not because I took them. It’s because I know how amazing these two are already. And it’s because I know, with the addition of baby boy Cooper, the best is yet to come. And it’s because as I was watching the slideshow, with images that I’ve looked at a hundred times, I started to tear up. Literally, tears were on my face by the end of the song. Ashley and Justin are two of my dearest friends and they will be wonderful, wonderful parents. When Ashley and I lived in the dorm together, we used to have conversations about getting married and having babies. It seems like yesterday, but it’s been a few years since all those late night conversations. And wow! The time has come for her to have a baby. (Well, not just yet, stay in there until March, please, Cooper!) I love you already, Cooper. Oh, and his name? Well, that’s my maiden name, so I doubly love Cooper already! I really can’t wait to tell him that he was named after me, right Ashley?!

Enjoy these images and the slideshow at the end. ;)

Have a great night!

Hello! I hope you are all staying warm and dry on this drizzly day. I adore this family. Absolutely adore! Melissa is basically the reason Rick and I are together. He was in my freshmen orientation class as a teacher’s assistant. Don’t worry, he was a student too, just an upperclassmen. :) Anyway, after we began dating that next spring, I became involved in the orientation program as well, and Melissa was the director of it. Rick was already one of Melissa’s favorite assistants, and so of course we became friends, too! Then I was honored when she asked me to babysit Anthony in the fall of 2008. He has certainly grown up since 2008 and is just a ball of energy. He’s such a fun kid and I always enjoy hanging out with him, along with Melissa & Rigo! :) We met in a small town for these images and had a great time catching up on life. Enjoy these favorites and my favorites on the slideshow at the end!

Love this:
