I love my friends. I really do! Ashley and I were college roommates and we have kept in touch since graduation. I have so many wonderful memories with Ashley and we created another memory recently by trashing her wedding dress. It was fantastic! She was a no-holds-bar kind of gal for this session. Her mom, Judy, helped us tremendously by driving us around to every location we wanted. Thank you so much! :) I would ramble on about how much I adore Ashley, Judy & the rest of their family, but you can read about their amazingness here and here! :) Happy Birthday Ashley! I’m so excited for you and this next chapter in your life. ;) Enjoy these images!

Love this one! This is the same bouquet she used in her wedding. Yep, they are fake flowers. They look great, right? :) One of my favs: She was up for anything! Simple portrait: Gorgeous! Love these next few: Ahh, another favorite: Gorgeous, Ashley! LOVE the light in this: Water time! I loved her boots: :) Fav: :) Gorgeous, again! Yep, she went there! Love this one and the one after it: Yay! Wet hair! Look at all that stuff! She really trashed it! However, Judy & Ashley used a little elbow grease and a lot of soapy water and they said the dress is cleaner than its ever been! Awesome! Ahh, love: Favorite: Beautiful!

Have a great night!

I’m jealous, Ashley! My mom, Rose Anne, wouldn’t let me get my dress wet! I wanted to get in the pond on our farm, but she said she would “kill” me if I did!

Bethany, these photos of Ashley are great!

    Thank you! :)

  • Judy (Ashley's Mom)

Ashley was always sorry that she did not have bridal portraits taken but with finishing nursing school and planning a wedding there wasn’t time. After we made these trash the dress photos that day she said “I am so glad that I waited for pictures. I would have been so worried about getting my dress dirty that I never could have taken the shots Bethany got.” She loved doing this session. Bethany is the best photographer, we all love her. True God given talent. Judy Apple

Favorite comment ever!! :) Thank you so much! I love all of yall too! :)

Last night, I snuck into bed at 1 AM after working and watching Friends reruns way too long. No matter how many times I have seen a Friends episode, they still make me laugh SO much. Much to my enjoyment and Rick’s dismay, Nick-at-Nite has been providing reruns of it for a few weeks now, and I have it set to record every. single. episode. :)

Anyway, last night, when I snuck into bed, just as I gently laid my head down on my pillow, Rick, in his slumber-ish state, reaches over and YANKS THE PILLOW OUT FROM UNDER ME. And then? Well, then he rolled over and continued snoozing. I began giggling uncontrollably at how hilarious this was, because he’s never done that before. I’m usually the pillow stealer, after all.

I said quietly: “You stole my pillow!” and continued giggling.

Then, not even ten minutes later, he randomly woke up and went downstairs to get a drink. And then? Then I STOLE MY PILLOW BACK. Take that, Husband!

We have been married one whole year as of last Saturday. One year! That’s crazy to me. Crazy in a good way, that is. :) Here are some random facts about our wedding day.

1. We had decorations, but it was so darn windy that we didn’t use very many of them. And you know what? I didn’t even notice until after the wedding. I was on cloud nine the whole day, and not stressed at all about anything! :) And you know what? We all had a wonderful time regardless of decorations. ;)

2. The wind was so insane and it was a bit chilly – or so I’m told. I thought the weather was just right because I’m hot natured. It was a perfect day in my opinion!

3. We had a bagpipe player! Yep, my dad’s friend played the bagpipes for us. How cool?!

4. I had grease on my dress before I got married and I didn’t care. :) (I leaned against a tractor for some photos and apparently got a little too close! haha!)

5. Pretty much everyone invited to the wedding saw me before the wedding. It was fantastic! I loved being able to visit with everyone before and after the wedding. I didn’t want to be “secretive” on my wedding day. I wanted to share it with everyone, so that’s just what I did. :) Plus, Rick and I were able to spend the majority of the day together since we had a First Look. ;)

6. A grasshopper hopped on the back of my dress and rode down the aisle with me… and everyone told me that same fact after the ceremony. It was awesome! He wanted to get married too!

7. I rode in a golf cart on my wedding day! We drove around in it to different photo & video locations. :)

8. This is probably my favorite photo of the day:

Here’s to more years of stealing pillows, giggles, and Friends reruns. :) I love you, Rick!

When Tabitha asked me about photographing her wedding, I silently said, “Oh, please, pick me! Pick me!” You see, Tabitha and I went to school together so I knew that 1) she was friendly, outgoing, and sweet, and 2) she was so darn fashionable. I knew that whatever she did for her wedding would be fun, gorgeous, and a wedding I didn’t want to miss. Thankfully, I won’t have to miss it! I’m going to be a part of it next August. (Thank you, for picking me, Tabitha & Bailey!)

When Tabitha asked me if she could arrange a 1950s inspired engagement session, I contained my excitement into a simple: “Yes, please!” On a cloudy day we spent six hours (Yes, six hours!) together taking these images. I am so appreciative of these two, along with Tabitha’s mom, Mrs. Tammy, the Soda Shop, the lovely gentlemen who let us borrow the amazing car below, and everyone else who came along to make sure everything came together for Tabitha & Bailey.

Bailey is exactly as I imagined, you know, as much as you can imagine about a person only seeing their photo on Facebook. ;) But seriously, he is the exact match for Tabitha. He is very easy going with a humorous side. I loved how he tricked Tabitha into thinking she wasn’t getting engaged the night he proposed. It worked like a charm, and so when he really did propose to her, she was genuinely surprised. :) Tabitha said that when they got together, everything just clicked. It was just easy between the two of them and they knew they were finished looking for a life partner. It’s  such a wonderful time for the two of them. They are planning to wed at Scarritt-Bennett in Nashville, and more importantly, planning their life together. :)

Before our session started I arrived early and photographed her gorgeous pear shaped diamond engagement ring. Tabitha, you are a girl after my own heart! I LOVE pear shaped diamonds. I took way too many photos of it, but I’m not ashamed. Obsessed? Maybe. But not ashamed. ;)

This is the only aspect of her wedding shoes I’m going to show you. They are divine, by the way! ;) We started the photos at the church Tabitha’s parents got married in. And guess what? Tabitha is wearing the dress her mom wore! Adorable! :) One of my favorites: Another favorite! I asked if we could pull over to a barn I noticed on the way to the church. Loved it! Yay! Love this! Sweet! Soda Shop! Their wedding date? 8.04.12: Tabitha’s new last name next August will be an M: :) Gorgeous!

Have a great night!
