Good morning! I hope you are all insanely happy today. Here’s another installment of FAQs. Enjoy!

Can you PhotoShop that?

It’s not as simple as that. I use Lightroom, a quicker, easier software that is a division of PhotoShop. It has a few “editing” or “diminishing” tools on it, but I try to keep my photos as natural as possible. I also try to get my images correct SOOC (Straight Out Of Camera), so I do not have to spend a ton of time correcting it. But, I do work my magic on small flaws on certain images. If I correct every flaw on every image, it would take forever. I do have a retouching fee for bigger issues, if clients feel the need to have a car removed in a photo, or something that is not what I consider standard editing.

What should I wear on a session?

I suggest bright colors for every session, every single time. The only reason is I love bright colors! ;) In all seriousness, I think you should wear something you are comfortable in and you feel fabulous wearing. You definitely do not have to wear all matching colors, either. Try to stay away from having a completely opposite color scheme, but don’t be afraid to think outside of the box. Gray shirt with white? Yes please! Blue shirts with green? Go for it! Just remember to stay away from patterns and stripes, because the camera doesn’t like them sometimes.

How many photos do I get with the wedding package? How many with a portrait session?

Weddings, guaranteed 600 images

Portraits, guaranteed 80 images

However, if you receive more, that’s just a bonus! I do not want to give anyone unrealistic numbers, so that’s why I have “guaranteed” numbers. Trust me, the amount of images is not as important as the quality of the images. By hiring me, you allow me and trust me to show you the best of the best, and that’s what I do. Quality over quantity. :)

What’s your current favorite song? (Okay, so no one has “frequently asked” me this question. I just threw it in here for good measure!)

My current favorite song has to be Sparks Fly by Taylor Swift. Almost everyone knows I love her to pieces. :)

Have a fantastic day!

Bethany

Since now everyone knows who Alicia is, I think I will try to refrain from calling her “Alicia, the girl on the couch.” :) Alicia & Seth, like all my couples, were just SO wonderful to work with. I just adore these two. They, like Jana & Taylor, were willing to have not only a camera in their face, but also a video camera for my Behind The Scenes Promo Video. Click HERE to view it, and it’s also on my new About page, so you can see it there too. :)

Like I said, all my couples are so wonderful, and the session could not have been more perfect. Alicia and Seth dressed to the nines for their Downtown engagement session, and they totally rocked it out. They both have this quiet lovey-dovey-ness that wins over everyone who meets them. This was my first time meeting Seth, but right away, I knew he was perfect for Alicia! They know how to make each other laugh with just one look, and it was such a joy getting to know them more during our session. And these two! Don’t forget to watch the slideshow at the end. :)

Funny story! Seth found a dollar! He was beyond excited, so I snapped a photo! :)

Because this has been such a great week, I wanted to end it with five jokes I’ve heard recently in hopes that it makes your week end on a great note. :)

1. Why do scuba divers fall backwards into the water?

Because if they fall forward they’d still be in the boat!       (My mom told me that joke and I cracked up; then I called to have her tell it to me again, and I cracked up again. I love that joke! Probably because it took me a few minutes to actually get it! hehe!)

2. Two bachelors sat talking, their conversation drifted from politics to cooking. “I got a cookbook once,” said one, “but could never do anything with it.” “Too much fancy work in it, eh?” asked the other. “You said it. Every one of the recipes began the same way, ‘Take a clean dish.'”

3. There are 2 cowboys in the kitchen. Which one is the real cowboy?
The one on the range.

4. A blonde went to a flight school insisting she wanted to learn to fly that day. As all the planes were currently in use, the owner agreed to instruct her on how to pilot the helicopter solo by radio.

He took her out, showed her how to start it and gave her the basics, and sent her on her way.

After she climbed 1000 feet, she radioed in. “I’m doing great! I love it! The view is so beautiful, and I’m starting to get the hang of this.”

After 2000 feet, she radioed again, saying how easy it was becoming to fly. The instructor watched her climb over 3000 feet, and was beginning to worry that she hadn’t radioed in.

A few minutes later, he watched in horror as she crashed about half a mile away. He ran over and pulled her from the wreckage. When he asked what happened, she said: “I don’t know! Everything was going fine, but as I got higher, I was starting to get cold. I can’t remember anything after I turned off the big fan…”

5. What do you call a fish with no eyes?
A fsh

Stop by Monday to see the rest of Alicia & Seth’s Engagement Photos:

Now, a few Dogwood Tree photos I took during Julie & Clark’s Engagement Session:  Have a safe weekend!
