There’s a funny website called TruuConfessions.com and one section includes true confessions from brides. I found the site thanks to Southern Weddings Magazine, Volume 2. The amazing editors included True Bride Confessions throughout the pages of V2, and I picked my favorite five from the ones in the magazine to share with you for this installment of Friday Five. I’m loving Friday Five, by the way!

My Favorite True Bride Confessions featured in Southern Weddings Magazine V2:

1. We got our wedding rings last weekend, and last night I took mine out for a test spin while he was at work. Totally worth it!

2. He took my name when we got married.

3. Now that I’m engaged to the love of my life, I kind of want to call the boys who broke up with me and say thank you.

4. Someone asked me if I was going to “upgrade” my ring because it is small. I told them I was going to “upgrade” their face if they didn’t hush up!

5. Dear Fiancée, Your family scares the daylights out of me. I love you. I want to marry you. Not them. Love Always, Me.

Happy Friday!

P. S. I’m dreaming of warmer days and photographing weddings. :)

One of my favorite past times, besides taking photos of my cat, Lexington Mae, is watching wedding videos online. The videos give me a new perspective on how to photograph, what to photograph, and they make me so happy that I often tear up. (Okay, cry. They make me cry! :) I even cried when I watched my own wedding videos… all four times already!)

I watched a wedding video a few months before my wedding, and I heard the vows I wanted to say to Rick. When I told Rick I found our vows, and how I found them, I vividly remember his response, “But, you can’t steal people’s vows!” To which I responded “Umm, is that not what millions of other people do when they say the traditional vows?! Yep!” ;)

I wanted to share our vows with all of my future brides & grooms, (and any other bride and groom reading this), in case they want something different, but do not want to write their own vows.

Our vows:

With this ring, I give to you my promise.
That from this day forward
You shall not walk alone.
May my heart be your shelter,
may my arms be your home.
May we walk together through all things.
May you feel deeply loved,
for indeed you are.
With this ring, I give you my heart.
I have no greater gift to give.
May we feel this joy forever.
With this ring, I thee wed.

I heard this next little phrase on another video and I had the preacher say it before he said, “You may now kiss the bride”,

May your love be modern enough to survive the times and old fashioned enough to last forever.

Feel free to use it! If I’m there, it will surely make me tear up, or cry. :)

Happy Thursday!

Bethany

I forgot to tell Alicia this, but I often refer to her as “Alicia, The Girl on the Couch” when I’m talking about this photo:

It’s never, “The girl on the couch” or just “Alicia”, it’s always Alicia, The Girl on the Couch. I say this with appreciation and hope that whenever I talk about it, the person knows just which image and fabulous lady that I’m talking about. ;) It’s still one of my absolute favorite images. I met her during Something Blue Bridal Shoppe’s photo shoot in June when she modeled for them. Then, Alicia got engaged to Seth a few months later and they chose me to photograph their wedding. I am beyond honored! I already know Alicia can rock a wedding dress. ;) It’s going to be fantastic. I know this because, this image was the very first one out of my camera on Sunday and it’s oh-so-fierce:

Ahh, I love just adore these two! :) If you follow my posts, you probably remember seeing Alicia at the Dani B. Couture’s Fashion Shoot, too.

I adore the swoop in Alicia’s dress. The wind picked the right moment to show up. :) Ahh, early favorite: Every engaged lady needs a ring photograph: Okay, I just had to add this one, too:  So gorgeous! :) I was focused on Alicia’s ring finger and this is what she was doing when I lifted my camera slightly up. I snapped a photo without her knowing it. I love unplanned photographs. ;)

Stop by tomorrow for M & B’s Maternity Session! :) They just had their baby boy on Monday! Congratulations you two!
