I love fried pickles.

Golden Rule BBQ has some of the best fried pickles. My northern grown fiancé (I only get to call him that for 15 more days! Ahh!) does not like fried pickles, so I know it has to be a southern trait.

I love how crunchy they are on the outside and how tangy they are on the inside. It’s the perfect combination and if I could have only fried pickles for dinner, I would.

Here’s yet another reason I love fried pickles:

They helped me win a copy of the new Southern Weddings Magazine before it official debut on Tuesday!

Last night, when I saw that Lara Casey tweeted to her followers (that would be me, because I’m a follower), that she wanted to know our favorite southern food, I replied back with “Fried pickles! Only in the south do you fry something so sour & tangy! :)”

And then when I read the tweet that said I, along with two other followers, won a new, never before seen, copy, I literally clapped.

Yes, I clapped. And I laughed! It was great. :)

So, now I’m patiently waiting for my copy to arrive on my doorstep TOMORROW!

And I’m sworn to secrecy, y’all, so don’t try to pry all it’s amazingness out of me. Because, let’s face it, we know it’s going to be fantastic. It is Southern Weddings Magazine, after all. ;)

Olivia said: “You get that sinking feeling after you realize what’s happened.” Yep, that’s the feeling. I got that feeling immediately after I shut my car door at the last location… with the keys inside. In the ignition to be exact. I believe the reason I forgot all about the keys was because I was in awe of yet another wonderful location. Yes, that has to be why. I mean, I took this picture right after I realized what I had done:

It’s so different from my normal style, but I adore it. :)

We had no time to spare at the last location, so I said, “Let’s get these photos finished then worry about the car.” :) I’m so glad we did too. The sun sank fast over the horizon, but Olivia & Jeff were amazing. Well, they were amazing the whole day. Every time I called Olivia to ask if we could “Stop here, the light is amazing!” or if we could “use that barn over there” for an idea I had, they were game for it! Not only are they my May 28th 2011 bride & groom, but Olivia is my hair and makeup artist for my wedding day, which is in 17 days! I will tell the random story about that later. :) For now, here are some more images from our really random, really fantastic, really eventful engagement session:

A streak of light inspired me here:

I like this one because Jeff is so mysterious looking in it. haha! I’m so silly! :)

How many couples, that you know of, had some of their engagement photos taken at a watermelon patch!?!?!

Yep, this was a first for me!

I <3 her oval shaped diamond turned sideways. Such a neat idea! And very beautiful sitting atop a watermelon:

And then I got in the river for these next few images:

Gorgeous!!!

So then I made them get in the river, and again another streak of light hit at just the right moment:

We went to a little chapel for a few images. Here is one from our time there:

And then we went to a beautiful farm for these last two:

This is different from my normal style too, but I love how Jeff is kissing Olivia’s nose and she is grinning so big. Plus the sunset is amazing!

Thanks for looking! The only reason I didn’t post these last night was because I needed sleep. :)

I ponder the word inspiration a lot. I’ve even wrote about it once before. Inspiration comes to me from the most random places and at the most random times. But it comes to me every day. Someone that inspires me every day:

If you are my friend on Facebook, you already know that Rick & I had our engagement pictures taken at the beginning of September. We had them taken by James Kirk Photography and I’m so excited he will be photographing our wedding too. Here are some more images for those aren’t on Facebook.

We had them taken at the airport. :)

Sitting in the diner at the airport:

This is probably my favorite favorite:

Ahh, thank you so much again, James! :) I can’t wait until the wedding. :D

Magazines are another great inspiration to me. Remember my summer reading list? So, I never really finished it because I keep adding to it:

As you can see, the majority of those are wedding magazines. Even after I get married, I will still buy them. (I never bought them before I was engaged, by the way. I didn’t want to jinx it! haha! However, when my college roommate Ashley got engaged, I used to read her wedding magazines ALL the time in the dorm.) I love reading up on wedding trends and seeing different styles of wedding photography. I love weddings! They inspire me. My brides & grooms inspire me. Love inspires me. :)

Walk in love clothing inspires me. Remind me to check back in November to see their new line, okay? Thanks. ;)

Taylor Swift inspires me. I absolutely adore her new video, Mine. See it here.

And PostSecret secrets inspire me. I am beyond thrilled that Frank Warren, founder of PostSecret, is coming to my university tomorrow night. :) People from all over the world send their secrets to Frank on a postcard and he posts around 20 of them online every Sunday. Some are sad, some are hurtful, some are happy, but all of them are inspirational to me. Below are a few of my favorites that I have saved over the years.

Have a happy Sunday!

Bethany
