This was the most dangerous photo shoot I’ve ever been on. This was not dangerous because of me, which is unusual because I’ve been known to stand in the middle of the road, lie in the middle of the road, stand in trees, under trees, you name it, and I’ve probably attempted it for a photograph. Oh no, I classify this dangerous because Amanda & Daniel decided to this:

Yes, that’s a tree leaning over a large body of water. And yes, that’s my awesome 10-10-10 Bride & Groom sitting on that tree. It was fantastic. :) Yes, I was extremely nervous about it, but it was still fantastic in the end. And no, I did not tell them to do this. They did this on their own. We were just walking along the trail at the Parthenon in Nashville and then BAM! We saw this tree. I even took a photo of it before all the amazing madness went down. (See photo below.) I believe I got out the words “I am not going to tell you to do anything, but…” I was going to finish that sentence by saying, you two should stand in front of it, so I can snap a few photos, but I did not finish that sentence. All of a sudden, Amanda started climbing, and Daniel turned around to hand me his cell phone. Ahh, so even he had a “what-if I fall in?” moment! I believe I said “Be careful” a gazillion times!

Ahh, I’m so excited about their fall wedding, but for now, here are more photos from our fun afternoon. :)

I love how black & white really accentuated their eyes in this one. I did nothing to accentuate them either! They just have amazing eyes. :)

See the rainbow?

See, this is the before-my-Bride-and-Groom-climbed-on-the-tree photo I was talking about. :)

Then there they were, just hanging out!

They are awesome and adorable. It makes my job pretty amazing. :)

We had the session on a Saturday with a ton of people around, and while they were in this tree, it was as if no one was around. Yet, for some reason, everyone that walked by us on that little trail gasped, looked at me funny, and looked back at them with sympathy. I wanted to tell them “Hey, I didn’t tell them to do this!” haha But, I was too busy trying to get as many photos as possible of it. :)

Then we found a Weeping Willow. My favorite tree!

In the photo above Amanda is holding this flower behind her back, trying to hide it from Daniel. It was the perfect prop to place her gorgeous ring on:

Three little friends:

One more that I’m attached to because of the light and the candid feel.

I am excited about a Senior photo shoot this afternoon. If you are a high school or college Senior and would like photos, I have a special Senior package starting at $95.00! Contact me if you are interested.

By the way, the fall wedding season is booking up! If you have a fall wedding now is the time to contact me as well.

I hope you all are having a great morning. Have a wonderful day!

  • […] in Weddings Hello there! If you are new here, you might want to subscribe to my RSS feed for regular updates.Powered by WP Greet Box WordPress PluginShareMy cousin ShaRee suggested Amanda & Daniel to me, because we are all from the same hometown. Photographing this wedding in my hometown was great because I got to see a lot of former teachers at her wedding. (Amanda’s mom is a teacher. :) ) When Amanda and I went over the details of her wedding, she told me her colors were silver and UK Blue. You know I fell in love with the details of this wedding at the mention of UK Blue! :) Amanda & Daniel were married on 10-10-10. After I booked this day, I had a ton of inquiries about the awesome date. ;) The UK Blue and the awesome details only added to the great day. Here are my favorites from the day. I’m in the business of love. And you better believe I love it! (How could you not love being around a couple in love on one of the most lovey-est days of their lives!?) Sherry & John’s wedding day was so lovely! Yes, it rained, but who cares? When two people who love each other get married, the weather is soooo not important.  I remembered specifically talking to Sherry about her April 24th wedding at the ClarksvilleBrides Bridal show in January. I was so thrilled when we began e-mailing and decided to work together for her wedding. The best part of the day was the moment John saw his pretty bride for the first time. :) I know his heart just melted! And another pretty amazing part of day was the fact that Sherry’s smile never faded. She was ecstatic to marry her love. Ahh, love! It’s beautiful. Enjoy the beautiful-ness! :)

This was the first time I had photographed at A Country Chapel and it was so wonderful for Sherry & John’s wedding.

A Country Chapel made both cakes!

On the side of the groom’s cake it said “A House Divided!” Haha!

Sherry’s excitement continued the whole day. :)

Beautiful!

Final touches for the bridesmaids:

I loved how bright the bridesmaids’ dresses were. Such a fun color!

John and his groomsmen.

It’s never official until that first kiss. :)

I’m loving black & white these days:

Love this one! :)

I’m a big fan of these next two! So in the moment. :)

One final image of the first dance. :)

Hope your Monday is off to a nice start! I have two engagement sessions to post in the next few days, so I’ll be talking to you all again soon. :)

I hope you all had a wonderful Father’s Day. I know I did. I spent the afternoon with my awesome family. :)

My nephew Kody even took a new head shot for me:

:) Then, after we had dinner and played cornhole, my mom decided it was time for a group photo. I set the camera on self-timer, pushed the shutter button and my Dad said, “Don’t trip!” But, as I ran to get in place, of course I tripped over the cornhole board! haha!!!! Only me!!! I’m not going to lie, it was HILARIOUS! :) I managed to stand up in time for the photo, (and, apparently, I used my sister’s shirt to pull myself up?!? I just noticed that I’m tugging on her shirt in the photo!), but I love everyone’s big smile when the shutter finally went off! We definitely had a good laugh over that!

Anyway, the reason for this blog post is that I make a lot of lists.

I think I picked up the habit from my college roommate Ashley. Lists help me prioritize where I need to be and what needs to be e-mailed, photographed, backed up, burned and/or blogged. Lists also stress me out. I think it’s because I make so many with the SAME items on them. I need to just make one giant list; however, I think that might stress me out even more! Lists also make me feel accomplished whenever I cross an item off. :) So, I think I’ll continue crossing off items on my lists in the hopes of starting on another list.

My summer reading list that is.

It includes a ton of magazines. (Mostly wedding magazines. Woo Hoo!) I also still need to look through my new Sally Mann book, Proud Flesh. Then I need to finish Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert. After that, I want to read her second book, Committed. And I just read a review for another book, Walking Papers by Francesco Clark that I want to read. :)

But for now, the next item on my list is Sherry & John’s wedding. :) So, check back soon!

Have a great day!

Bethany

  • Maybe Kody should be your second shooter! I love this random blog!

Yes! I agree! LOL Yeah, I’ve been wanting to talk about lists for a while and then I thought “Hey, I’ll add photos”! And then it was Father’s Day and I tripped and yeah! haha ;) It’s funny!
