Good morning!

I promised to review my favorite lens after reviewing the 50mm 1.4G, and today is the day! It is the Nikon 60mm 2.8G Micro-Nikkor Lens.

I love this lens for the getting ready portion of a wedding day. Since it has macro abilities, I can capture rings, and details at super close range, meaning I don’t have to crop in on an image in post production to get a nice detail shot.

Not only does it have excellent macro abilities, but I can still use it for portraits, being a 60mm focal length. This causes portraits to have a nice compression, and lovely bokeh. (Also known as blur in the background.)

The sharpness of this lens surprises me every time I use it. It’s the best! Percentage wise, I would say I use this 5% of a wedding day, but it’s a lovely addition to my camera bag. And one that I don’t want to be without now that I love it so much. I also love photographing engagement sessions with this lens. I always bring it along so I can photograph the engagement ring, and generally end up taking portraits with it as well. The versatility of it makes it my favorite.

Next time, I will discuss a lens that has a ton of versatility as well, the 24-70mm.

For now, enjoy some lovely images captured from the 60mm 2.8. :)

Have a great Thursday!

Yesterday, I fully intended on blogging. Fully. However, the day got away from me. I’m not sure how it happened, but I believe it began when I not-so-subtly invited myself on a lunch date with Rick. The conversation went as follows at 11:05AM:

“Hey, what are you doing?” -B

“I’m going to lunch.” -R

“Well, are you inviting me or something because I’m about to walk into the bank.” -B

“Oh yeah, sure! You want to go to Mexican?” -R

*DING DING DING* He said my favorite type of food. Mexican.

“Okay, I will leave the bank and head that way now.” -B

“Well, I’m glad. I just called to see if you wanted to go to lunch.” -R

And after we hung up, I realized the following: 1) I sounded a bit snippy about it, but I was literally in the foyer part of the bank about to walk in and needed to make a decision: stay or go. 2) I invited myself to lunch and Rick thought it was his idea by the end of the conversation. Plus, he even picked my favorite type of food. Mexican! I love being married. And despite your questioning in this text exchange yesterday, Rick, I do like you. A LOT. Hence the whole we are married thing.

And as the text mentions, yesterday, six years ago, Rick & I went on our very first date. Rick doesn’t remember all of our random anniversary dates, but I do! And if I forget, I now have the Internet to remind me since I talk about them on here. ;) I can’t remember if I’ve ever blogged about our First Date. I will have to do that sometime. ;) Anyway, I am thankful for that first date because without it, we wouldn’t be together. Thanks for asking me out, Rick!

Last night, I watched Doomsday Preppers for the first time. I watched it to see how insanely scared these people are, and what happened after that?! I had a nightmare.

Not just any nightmare, either. A nightmare that involved a girl I went to high school with vandalizing our house with a bat. And then? Well, of course then an earthquake occurred. Umm, no more Doomsday Preppers for me!

So, thanks to that nightmare, I’m running on five hours of sleep. I’m surprisingly chipper despite that, though. Yay Wednesday! :) Okay, I need to go before I tell you about all of my other random dreams/nightmares.

Have a wonderful day!

Yesterday, Rick & I went to our friends house to watch the Super Bowl. Were we the only ones not impressed? Between the power outage, Beyonce’s mad face during the half-time show, and the lack of good commercials, we were left feeling ‘meh’ about the whole event. Also, why were the players still fighting and hitting each other after plays were over?! I couldn’t believe it because they were at the Super Bowl, and that should’ve made them happy regardless of winning or losing.

My favorite commercial was God Made a Farmer. See it HERE. However, Super Bowl Sunday wasn’t a waste of however many hours + the power outage, because we had a great time with our friends! And that’s all that matters. :)

Saturday, we had a game day with our family! One of the funniest and most aggravating games ever was HedBanz. The object of the game is to guess what card is on your forehead. It’s really funny because you think you are on the right track, but most of the time, you are going in circles trying to figure out what it is. It’s really entertaining once you get the hang of it. We also tried this game called Dang You Auto Correct. It was NOT fun. Do not buy it. I will be donating mine to Goodwill. Another fun game is Left Right Center. Or I think it is Right Left Center? Actually, it’s Left Center Right. It’s a dice game, and you can either play with money or chips. Playing with money is way better, though. ;) Do you have any fun games I should know about? I loved game day with the family!

And now, because it’s Monday and everyone needs a pick-me-up on Monday, enjoy these funny finds.

I have a ton of laundry to do and I’m not excited about it:

LOL:

This makes me laugh, out loud, every time I see it:  Rick HATES when I mock his voice… apparently I do it wrong:

Happy Monday!
