Happy Happy Happy Monday!!! Today I’m sharing a very special engagement session with you. I love all of my brides & grooms and engagement sessions just make me fall more in love with them. :) Is it weird that I love them? It is, then I don’t want to be normal! LOL

Lauren & Chris have a quiet, romantic type of relationship; the quick glance, the slight sway of their hands clasped together, the way he makes her smile for no reason at all, is genuinely romantic. It makes those waiting for their significant other, truly believe that such a love is possible. I am so fortunate that I was able to photograph their engagement photos and witness this love first hand before they tie the knot next month. We walked around Dunbar Cave park for the first part of the session. I liked how vibrant Lauren’s dress was and the contrast it added against the greenery of the trees. And can I just say, in addition to being gorgeous, she has such amazing eyes. She definitely worked it for the camera. :) Chris adores Lauren and within minutes of photographing them, I knew he is beyond thankful to have Lauren as his significant other, forever. :) During the second part of the session, we went Downtown for a few images. This time, Chris’ yellow shirt added a pop of color to the different backgrounds we found. We also found these amazing yellow handrails by a few steps. It was great! And plus, Chris knew just when to love on Lauren, and when to make her laugh. ;) Enjoy!

Love. Seriously LOVE:  Ahh, stop being so darn adorable, you two… Okay, really don’t stop. :) Still loving this one too:
Totally amazing lovebirds:  Yep, we randomly found a bike! haha! :)  Another favorite for sure:

I know, I know, I didn’t post yesterday. However, I did make lemonade! ;)

Just as I finished making it, Rick came home and said, “Why did you make lemonade?”

“Because we had lemons, DUH!” I replied back, and probably rolled my eyes.

But seriously, what else do you do with lemons? :)

Since this was my first time making lemonade, I googled how to do it. Yes, I had a general idea of how to make lemonade, but still, I wanted to make sure it turned out great. :) The first step was to heat a cup of sugar with a cup of water until the sugar dissolved. With the sugar & water heating, I hand squeezed 7 lemons into a cup. If you have a tiny cat scratch on your finger, don’t do this by hand. It will HURT. Every. Single. Time. Ugh! Anyway, 7 lemons, hand squeezed, produced a little over a cup of lemon juice. I didn’t want the seeds in the lemonade, so I used a can drainer to get the seeds out. After that, just mix the sugar water and lemon juice with 3-4 cups of cold water. I let mine refrigerate for 30-40 minutes before trying it. :) I know it’s super simple, but it turned out SO good. Plus, I was super proud of myself for making fresh lemonade. ;)

Of course, being a photographer, I took photos of the process. iPhone photos, but still, photos none the less.

Have a happy weekend. :)

On Monday night, I stayed up working past midnight. All I really wanted to do that night was go watch TV and fall asleep at a decent hour with Rick. When I woke up yesterday morning, I felt like a bad wife for working instead of spending time with Rick. :( So, I resolved to spend less time working when he is home and more time with him. Here’s to more life/work balance! :)

Who else is majorly excited about Revenge coming back on tonight?! I know I’m not the only one addicted to that show. Now, if only they would stop going on like five week hiatuses every few weeks. I need more Revenge in my life! TV style Revenge, that is.

Yesterday, on my Facebook wall, like ten people shared this video. I was skeptical at first, because the screen shot shows a guy photographing two ladies in bikinis. But, I decided since ten people shared it, I would find out what all the fuss was about. And it’s wonderful. It’s about making life count and really made me want to jump on a plane to Paris, or Hawaii, or SOMEWHERE. But, in case you aren’t friends with all those people who shared it, I wanted to share it here for you. :)

The video showed lots of great quotes, but I really like these two:

“I never worry about the future, it comes soon enough.” -Albert Einstein

“If I’d followed all the rules, I’d never have gotten anywhere.” -Marilyn Monroe

So, to recap this post, I need more work/life balance. I need more Revenge. And I need to go on a trip somewhere, and soon. ;)

Have a fabulous day!
