I’m pretty sure I have a bruise on the top of my foot. How funny is that? It’s all in the name of photography! I’ve had some fantastic engagement sessions lately, and last night was no exception. :) It involved an impromptu night photo shoot in Downtown Clarksville. Here’s one photo from that:

In other news, after a year and a half of having absolutely nothing hanging on our walls in the townhouse (other than my office), I decided to hang up a few wedding canvases. And oh-I-love-em-so-much! I’m already planning on buying more to hang up, but for now, check it out:

I think Rick would prefer us not to have a pink Dance throw on our couch, but it’s the warmest blanket ever. My parents bought it for me years ago, and when I moved out I think they were sad to see it go. ;)

Is it normal for a five year old cat to chew on everything like a six month old puppy?! I swear, Lexi is chewing on everything from tissue boxes, to books, to my iPad cover. It’s pretty crazy around here. So crazy that last night after I got home from my shoot, Rick threw a gummy bear at her. Yes, Rick THREW A GUMMY BEAR at our fur-baby. Haha! It made her behave though, because she was so curious about it. Don’t worry, she didn’t eat it; she just sniffed it. Even though she chews on everything, she’s a snob when it comes to food!

Don’t let her girlish figure fool you; she’s not this innocent:

Okay, so now that I’ve made you laugh, (hopefully!) I hope you have a wonderful, wonderful day! :)

Alicia! Oh, Alicia! The first time I sat down with her and Mike, I instantly LOVED her style. When I asked where she got her shirt and necklace, she said cheerfully, “New York and Company!” In which I said, “Well, I’ll be John Brown! I love that store!” I might not have said that I would be John Brown (a Southern phrase my grandmother says), but you get the idea. I was REALLY excited. To top it off, Mike is the one that bought her the items for Christmas. And that’s when I knew it was love at first meeting for us three. :)

The next time we sat down, I absolutely loved her purse! She told me about how it was a Miche Bag and if I got one I would love carrying it as much as looking at it. :)

Her gorgeousness exudes from her and her smile lights up a room. Mike just takes it all in. It’s so sweet; she is definitely his princess for life.

Their wedding is a wedding I booked the farthest out. They booked me a year and a half in advance. It is a huge honor that they trust me so much! I’ve had the joy of hearing about all of their June 9th 2012 wedding planning, and let me tell you, I can’t wait to see all of their visions come to life.

Alicia & Mike met at work in 2008, and then last New Year’s Eve, Mike surprised Alicia with a dozen red roses and a grin from ear to ear. And then? Then he gave her a gorgeous ring and asked if she would spend forever with him. The rest, well, the rest is history. I can’t wait to photograph their 6-9-12 wedding and watch as their love expands into an even greater love story than it already is. :) Love you two to pieces!

Enjoy these images. :)

Have a wonderful night!

Before heading out to lunch with Ashley today, I searched relentlessly through two of my junk drawers for the warranty plan for my diamond wedding band. I have to get it checked every six months for the warranty to be valid, and September is one of those months. I put it off and put it off, until I realized yesterday that THIS WEEKEND IS OCTOBER. Holy cow! October. I love October. So many fun events are coming up in October! :) So, anyway, as I searched through EVERYTHING for that darn warranty, which I never found by the way, I found the following:

several Christmas/Birthday/Congratulations on Wedding/Engagement cards, my old Borders reward card – which I threw away since they are out of business now, a sheet of Forever stamps (Woo Hoo!), a baby announcement for my friend’s baby (who is now two!), Ashley’s wedding invitation, and Ashley’s thank you card for her wedding present.

I literally could have spent the rest of the day digging through my junk drawers, because I loved reading all of the old cards! Plus, finding a whole sheet of Forever Stamps was a bonus! And reading the invitation just made me realize how much time has gone by. Ashley & Justin will have been married two years in January. Crazy! And her brother Jeremy is getting married to Mamie in less than two weeks! I can’t wait and I’m super excited for them. :)

Anyway, the real reason for this post is Melinda & Justin! I posted a few teasers on my Facebook page back in April, and have been meaning to post their full session for months now. Yes, months! I can’t believe how fast time flies.

I feel like Melinda and I would be BFFs if we lived in the same state. She’s so kind and sincere. I gathered that from the moment we met each other. And Justin? Well, he is just as sincere. They have the kind of love that is unspoken. It’s her sweet laugh when Justin tells a joke; it’s the way Justin hugs her as if he will never let her go. It’s the way they put anyone at ease the first time they meet them. I just love M & J to pieces! I feel so blessed to meet people, even if it’s only ‘technically’ one time, and be a small part of their love story. You see, Melinda lives in California. Before Justin moved to California for the wedding, he was stationed here. Melinda came into town for a visit one week back in April. After calling several other photographers who didn’t answer (FYI, it pays to answer your phone and/or respond quickly, fellow vendors/business owners ;) ), Melinda shot me an e-mail asking about taking engagement photos that week. I remember that week vividly. I had four or five shoots already that week and I e-mailed back saying the only day I could do it was Friday.

And guess what happened on Friday? It rained ALL morning. After we decided to “wait the rain out,” the rain broke way to the most gorgeous day. We finally met at Rotary Park for the session, and if I haven’t already told you, it was the most gorgeous Spring day. :) I had a great time getting to know them and their love story, all while capturing this time in their lives. They were married a few weeks ago in California (oh, how I would have loved to have been their wedding photographer!), and I wish them all the best. It was wonderful getting to know them back on that April day, and I thank Facebook for allowing us to stay in touch! ;)

Have a good night!
