Good morning! I woke up bright and early at 4:30 this morning. I have no idea why, but I’m ready to take on the day! Highlight of my morning so far: Lexi diving at the closed window. She was apparently trying to pounce on something outside. Poor kitty was pretty shaken up. It was pretty funny though. ;)

I am so excited to share this engagement session today. I met Karrie about ten years ago. When did I become old enough to say “ten years ago” and actually remember ten years ago?! So weird. Anyway! I first saw Karrie at a 4-H camp retreat and I remember how happy she was. Her smile was brighter than everyone else’s, and her laugh was so contagious. From afar, she seemed so friendly and outgoing. Then a few hours later, we finally met, and that’s when I confirmed how friendly and outgoing she is. :)

When the e-mail from Karrie asking about wedding photography landed in my inbox, I got really excited for her! Being engaged is so much fun, and I knew Karrie was going to have a blast planning her wedding. And who is this mystery man that stole Karrie’s heart? A Spaniard! Yes, Alfonso is from Spain. And his personality is just as warm and inviting as Karrie’s. When I met him, I had a ton of questions about when he came to the U.S., how he fell in love with Karrie, and their wedding plans in Spain. Yes, after they have a ceremony here in October, they are getting married in Spain, too! How cool?!

For this engagement session, they wanted to go to the Sunken Gardens at Centennial Park, which I was totally game for. We drove down there on a gorgeous spring day. The flowers and trees were blooming, and the warmth brought so many other people, too. Karrie & Alfonso were oblivious to all of the people, and just focused on each other – as a couple should during their engagement session! ;) After this session, I really can’t wait for their wedding in October. :)

Have a great Wednesday!

    Thank you Briana! :)

  • Great shots! Those trees are amazing! You should try to talk them into taking you along for the wedding in Spain too:)

Karrie, Love the pictures and Congrats!

  • […] might remember their engagement session at The Parthenon this last spring. What a fun session that was! I met Karrie when I was probably 15 years old. […]

How was your weekend? My weekend was so fabulous that my body didn’t want me to sleep last night. I probably got about 2 full hours of sleep. It’s totally cool though, because I had so many happy thoughts and so much stuff I wanted to do. Like look at all the photos I took this weekend. :) Saturday I watched UK beat Louisville, and celebrated my nephew’s birthday at the same time. It was a win-win, for sure! Earlier on Saturday morning, I had a session with the nicest family on the planet! Seriously, the nicest!!! Love them. A few teasers from that session to hold you over:

Then on Sunday, I had the coolest engagement session. It included bikes, a vintage couch, and two lovebirds. What more could a photographer ask for? :)

Today is going to be just as fabulous as my weekend. I have a meeting with a bride, then I’m editing, editing, editing until the Championship game! GO UK! :)

  • Those engagements are STUNNING!! Love, love LOVE!

Thank you! :) I am SO excited about them. :)

Yesterday, I bought two CDs: Taylor Swift’s self-titled CD & Adele’s 19 CD.

As you all know, I am a bit obsessed with T. Swizzle, and despite having all of her other CDs, including a Holiday themed one, I did not own her first one. Until yesterday, that is.

And I have loved Adele ever since I heard Chasing Pavements on my radio driving to class a few years ago. However, I didn’t own that CD either, so that had to change when I saw it in the store along with Taylor’s CD.

I can’t wait to listen to both CDs this weekend in my car. I have a busy weekend, so today has been very relaxing. I’m photographing a family session tomorrow and an engagement session on Sunday. And in between that is my nephew’s birthday, and a UK vs. Louisville Watch-Party  I mean, a Root-For-UK Party. ;) And I’m just glad to have some new, or would you call it old?, music to listen to in the car. Bring on the weekend! Woo Hoo!

In other news, on Tuesday, I asked my lovely Mom to take a few photographs of me. What we didn’t plan on was using hole punch leftovers for a few of them. It was fun to be spontaneous and I love how the images turned out. Thanks Mom! You are awesome. ;)

I hope you have a fantastic weekend!
