Bethany Ann Photography – Nashville, Tennessee Wedding & Portrait Photographer » Southern Weddings & Portraits

I used to be undaunted when I started this photo journal. I used to be able to share so much more than I do now. I miss that. As my business grew, I became very skeptical and worried: skeptical that anyone would actually read what I wanted to say, and worried of the judgment of others.

But since attending The Fix two weeks ago, I feel open again. I want to live and write in a way that doesn’t limit my creativity, because for a while I’ve felt stagnant. How do I overcome that? Not by trying to overcome it, but by overcoming it in my actions and my life.

See, what I have discovered is the act of trying will not get me anywhere – only action will.

No more trying. If I want to write about something there will be no more hesitation – I will just write.

I will do what makes me happy. And it starts with this post. I could never hit publish on this post. I could just pretend I never wrote about insecurity and doubt and being afraid. But then I would remain the same. And change is good.

I know that not everyone is going to like me. And that is okay. I wish I realized and internalized that notion long before today. But it is what it is.

Here’s to moving fearlessly forward.

I love this post Bethany. Probably because I feel the same in many ways. I wish I could have went to The Fix with you, I’m sure it was fantastic. Your photography and your writing are both beautiful and I enjoy them both :)

I wish you could’ve went too!! :) Thank you for your sweet comments. :)

The only light in the room illuminated your dad’s face.

The only sound in the room was your heartbeat.

Then, you were here.

Right where you belong, as if you have been here forever.

Welcome, Cooper!

Today, I am sharing a very fun engagement session. I absolutely loved this session! M & I know each other through our sorority days. When she asked me to photograph her wedding, I was so thrilled. She’s beyond gorgeous, super friendly & so kind. Then, when I met D, I knew he was just right for M. He is hilarious, generous, and easy-going. Their wedding day will be so wonderful.

I asked the lovebirds how they met and they met on a blind date. But, not just any blind date – on another couple’s blind date. M’s friend and D’s friend had a blind date set up, but didn’t want to go alone, so they convinced M & D to come along too. At first, M was just there to be a supportive friend. And then? Well, then D charmed M with his wit and personality. The rest, as they say, was history. :)

I’m looking forward to your wedding, M & D!
Have a fabulous evening,

Bethany
