One of my favorite things to do is look at old photographs. It’s certainly not anything miraculous, and it’s probably something a lot of people do. When I see an old photograph of me that I remember, it takes me back to that time and place. I enjoy remembering specific days, moments, and holidays through photographs. When I see an old photograph of me that I don’t have a memory of, I take every inch of the photograph in. I look at who, if anyone, is in the photograph with me. I like to guess what happened just as the shutter snapped the memory. It also leads to interesting conversations with family and friends about certain images.

When I first looked at the images below, it hit me.

I am photographing for Alex.

Yes, I am photographing for his parents and siblings, too, but mostly for Alexander. I know one day, in ten or fifteen years, he will see the images in photo albums or in his baby book and truly study them. He may even ask his family about that day in the park, and what kind of baby he was. He will laugh at their stories of him, and probably make fun of everyone’s outfits being “so 2015.” Thinking of those future conversations surrounding these images makes me smile. I hope he enjoys learning about his “younger self” through these photographs when he gets older.

What a privilege it is to photograph memories!

I’m excited to announce a Mini Session Day! It’s on Halloween morning, but is not going to be Halloween themed. ;) Since the sessions are going to take place in the morning, you will have plenty of time for Halloween events that night. Perfect, right?! Mini Sessions are a great way to get an updated family photo to use for Christmas Cards. And! If you want, bring your child’s Halloween costume for a fun image of them all dressed up, too.

All proceeds are going toward a wheelchair accessible van for my 12 year old nephew, Kody, who has cerebral palsy. He has an awesome electric wheelchair which requires a specific van to lift it. Right now, the school bus is able to take it to school, which is a blessing, but he is quickly out growing his manual wheelchair that he uses outside of school. Plus, the electric wheelchair provides so much more independence for him!

If you have been on the fence about scheduling a session for the fall, then I think a Mini-Session may be the perfect fit for you and your family. It’s twenty minutes of your day to create memories that will last a lifetime. :)

Location TBD. Contact me to reserve your preferred time: photos@bethanyannphotography.com.

As a bride, you need great gals around to support you on your wedding day. Like Leah and her maids called it, you need a Bride Tribe. bride-tribe-bridesmaids-tips-nashville-clarksville-tennessee-photography-photographer-bethany-ann_0004If you are a part of a Bride Tribe, always be looking out for what details your friend, A.K.A. the bride, may want photographed. One of Leah’s ladies gave us this decorated book to use as a prop for the ring photo. I like how it turned out: bride-tribe-bridesmaids-tips-nashville-clarksville-tennessee-photography-photographer-bethany-ann_0001

Another one told me about their ‘knot’ rings that Leah gave them. When she asked each of them to be a part of the wedding, she gifted them with a ‘knot’ ring to symbolize the event. Such a neat idea! So, of course we had to get a photo of them!

Nothing makes me happier than to see a group of gals truly excited for their bride. It’s the best! Bonus points if you have a handsome and adorable ring bearer as a part of the bride tribe, too!  bride-tribe-bridesmaids-tips-nashville-clarksville-tennessee-photography-photographer-bethany-ann_0007 bride-tribe-bridesmaids-tips-nashville-clarksville-tennessee-photography-photographer-bethany-ann_0008
