Valerie’s Senior Session

In the middle of summer, with my giant baby belly, I photographed my cousin Valerie’s Senior Portraits. I love Miss Valerie!!! I remember when she was born. We went to the hospital to see her and she was this tiny, tiny little baby. So I feel rather old that she’ll be graduating this year! But, I’m also super proud of the young lady she’s become. :) We took these around her family’s farm, our grandparent’s farm and on my parent’s property too. They all live within a mile, if that, of each other. It was fun to explore and spend an afternoon with her capturing these images. One of her very best friends also made an appearance for a few images, and I loved it! Ladies, life after high school really goes quickly, so enjoy this time right before this next chapter in your life. :) Here are a few of my favorites!

Graham’s Favorite Items

Graham’s going to be 22 weeks this Wednesday, and it’s so much fun to see his personality really develop. He’s such a happy baby, and I think that’s because he had such a difficult first few weeks dealing with reflux and a milk allergy. Since that is straightened out now, for the most part he’s such a smiley kid. I absolutely love it. His eyebrows are also the BEST EVER. He is super expressive with them! He makes me laugh so many times throughout the day. I love the kid, can you tell?! ;)

Graham has developed an affinity for a few items and I thought it would be fun to share what he loves.

Bouncer! This has been, and still is, a lifesaver on many occasions. It keeps him contained and entertained! And the best part? It was a hand-me-down from one of our friends. Graham loves to play with the toys hanging from it, and I switch them out every now and then so he’ll have something new to play with. When he was first learning to ‘reach’ he always reached for the turtle. It was ADORABLE. ;) However, since he’s trying to crawl, (yes, already!), he doesn’t want to stay in it for very long now.

Jeffery the Giraffe! Mom and Dad bought this giraffe for Graham before Graham even arrived. He loves the music it plays and instantly smiles when he sees it.

Graham even lucked out and was a Giraffe for Halloween!

Rick’s old Teddy Bear! Yep, Rick so kindly passed on his Teddy Bear, named Teddy, to Graham. And guess what? I think Graham loves it as much as Rick did. He hugs it and tries to chew on it. (Oh the joys of teething! He tries to chew on everything! Well, everything except his teething rings. ;) )

Cats! The past few weeks he has REALLY started taking notice of our cats Lexi and Murray. It’s really sweet, because now he grins SO big when he sees them. He even reaches for them now. He just knows that they are his kitties. In addition, he really likes ALL cats. My parent’s cat, Bailey, is a favorite of his, as well. And at PetsMart this weekend he saw a few other cats, and affectionately smiled at them too. We are raising a cat person for sure! He even likes the stuffed animal kitties I bought at Restoration Hardware!

Oh, and his feet. He loves those too. ;)

Ahh, those expressive eyebrows I mentioned above. I just love them! ;)

I’m sure with him being thisclose to crawling, he will discover new favorite items soon! :)

Tracie & Jesse’s Opryland Hotel Wedding

Tracie and I had an English class together in college and when she contacted me early last year about shooting her wedding, I was super excited. Especially because it was going to be on a MONDAY! And, it was only going to be about 14 people there! What!? Yep! It was a small, very intimate wedding at Opryland Hotel and it was just PERFECT. I don’t use that word often, but this event deserves it, for sure. Since I was only there for a shorter amount of time, we began at the First Look. I didn’t capture any getting ready images because Tracie & Jesse wanted to focus on having fun with each other, and capturing portraits of the day. It was remarkably sweet to see the tears in Jesse’s eyes when he saw his beautiful bride Tracie for the first time. After the First Look, we walked around and took bride & groom photographs around Opryland, and as you can imagine on a Monday afternoon, it was pretty vacant, which again, was PERFECT! I really hope to take more photographs at Opryland sometime because there were many places we didn’t even go, and trust me, we went a lot of places to capture these images. It was beyond fun since Tracie & Jesse are naturals in front of the camera. We took the family formals, followed by a few more couple images, and then it was ceremony time! I absolutely adored it when Jesse kissed Tracie’s hand right after Tracie’s dad gave her away. The sweetest, for sure! The day ended with a cake cutting and quaint dinner reception with their guests. I truly had the best time! I can’t thank you two enough, Tracie & Jesse. Thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of your beginning. :) Enjoy my favorites of their wedding day!
